The ongoing role of our beta testers

IPVanish beta testing continues to be an integral part of our development cycle. We’re continually seeking user feedback to help us test new experiences and refine new features before they’re released to all users.

Any IPVanish user with an Android, Windows, or macOS device can opt in to IPVanish VPN beta updates. 

This collaboration with our community allows us to build a better, more secure VPN experience for everyone.

Windows

  • There are currently no IPVanish beta updates for Windows 

Mac

  • The Mac VPN beta introduces an early in-app release of Secure Browser for Advanced plan users, integrating with Link Checker to prompt secure link opens when extra protection is needed. (v4.9.0) 

Android

  • There are currently no IPVanish beta updates for Android 

Opt-in to access IPVanish beta testing

Want early access to new IPVanish features? You don’t need to sign up for a formal beta program or jump through hoops. You can enable beta updates right from your device in just a few taps.

You’ll be trying out features while they’re still in the works — the same ones our team is actively tweaking and testing. 

How to enable IPVanish beta updates for Android: 

1. Open the Google Play Store app on your device and search for “IPVanish” using the Search bar at the top.

2. Tap “Join” under the “Join the beta” section.

3. Tap “Join” again.

When a beta becomes available, you’ll be prompted to update IPVanish. Please direct your feedback to our Support Team.

How to enable IPVanish beta updates on macOS

1. Click the IPVanish icon in the menu bar at the top right-hand corner of your screen.

After logging in, open your IPVanish app by clicking the slider switch icon in the Quick Connect menu.

2. Click “Info” in the left menu, then select the “Update” tab. Next, check the box to “Enable notifications for beta releases”.

3. Once you enable beta updates, every time you quit and restart IPVanish, it will check for new updates. If an update is available, you’ll see a prompt giving you the option to install it.

How to enable IPVanish beta updates on Windows: 

1. Open IPVanish and log in. Once logged in, go to “Info” in the left navigation menu, click the “Update” tab, and “enable the Beta option”.

2. After enabling beta updates, each time you exit and restart IPVanish, the app will check for new updates. If one is available, a prompt will appear giving you the option to install it.
