We’re Heading to WordCamp Asia in 2026!

This year, GreenGeeks is attending WordCamp Asia in Mumbai, India! This year’s event will be held at the Jio World Convention Centre located near the Mithi River. It’s an amazing location and will be packed with some great talks.

While visiting, make sure you stop by our booth and meet Gurjeet and Gautam, two of our staff members who are looking forward to talking to you about WordPress, websites, and what GreenGeeks has to offer.

Regardless, this WordCamp is sure to be a great one, and we hope to see you there.

What to Expect from WordCamp Asia

There are a lot of great talks going on this year, so you might want to grab your passport and visit Mumbai. Coincidentally, WordCamp Asia kicks off on release day of WordPress 7. So, it should be extra exciting.

In fact, there are so many great talks going on this year that I had a difficult time just picking five to highlight. So, I narrowed it down to the sessions I’d love to join.

Some of the talks this year include…

  • WordPress 7.0 Release Session – Workshop
Hang out with some folks and go over the latest features of WordPress as it rolls out to the world.
  • Stop Guessing, Start Building: How to Build WordPress Products Users Actually Want
In this talk, Nabin Jaiswal shares how to identify and build out features that customers actually want in their products and not base development on assumptions.
  • From Reactive to Proactive: Modern Observability for WordPress
If performance is of utmost importance to you (and it should be), Mathieu Lamiot breaks down his experienced career to help you build a strong benefit-to-effort ratio by being proactive with WordPress development instead of reactive.
  • Ten Times the Value: Why Automation Is Worth the Investment in Open Source
In this session, Jonathan Desrosiers goes over examples of automation, including what has worked well for building superior websites. You’ll also learn where automation is key for building contributor-friendly tools and functions.
  • Entity-First Optimization: How to Make WordPress Content Machine-Readable
Your content experiences an uphill battle, thanks to functions like AI Overviews. In this talk, Adeline Dahal helps you understand ways to structure content in WordPress to give search engines a leg up when crawling your content.

It was very difficult to select five talks to highlight. There are so many great sessions going on at WordCamp Asia this year. Perhaps we’ll get lucky and they’ll be available on WordPress.tv.

While You’re In Mumbai…

WordCamp Asia isn’t the only attraction in Mumbai. In fact, Mumbai ranks among the top-tier tourist destinations in the world, bringing in more than 3.7 million tourists in 2024 alone.

So, what are some of the things you can explore while visiting Mumbai?

  • Completed in 1924, the Gateway of India in Mumbai is an amazing arch, highlighting cultural design. From this port location, you can take a ferry to the Elephanta Caves.
  • The Elephanta Caves are a series of cave temples dedicated to Shiva, the Hindu god of destruction and transformation. The caves themselves are believed to have been constructed between the 5th and 6th centuries, making them over 1,500 years old!
  • Just north of the Gateway of India arch, you’ll find the Bollywood Studio tours. Bollywood is India’s version of Hollywood, focusing on the Hindi-language industry. If you haven’t seen a movie from Bollywood, you’re missing out.

The thing to keep in mind is that India has a very long and rich history. While we focused on Mumbai, don’t forget some of the other incredible locations the country has to offer. For instance, you could visit Sanchi Stupa in Madhya Pradesh, a stone structure that has been around for more than 2300 years!

Have a Great Weekend, Mumbai

There’s no doubt that there are a lot of great sessions happening at WordCamp Asia in 2026. Mix in the allure of the location, and you have the makings of a thrilling weekend.

I’d like to take this moment to thank all of the supporters, organizers, volunteers, and patrons for keeping WordCamp Asia alive and well. We appreciate your hard work, which makes the WordPress community one of the best in the world.

Have a great weekend in Mumbai. And don’t forget to stop by our booth and speak with Gurjeet and Gautam. They’re looking forward to meeting you.
